New Year’s Eve Style: Metallic at Midnight

In between cranking up the Christmas Pandora station and sipping Candy Cane Tea (Trader Joe’s is absolutely the most festive of grocery stores, and I can’t get enough of their seasonal sweets!), I’ve been scouring my brain for the perfect New Year’s outfit for the countdown to 2012. It’s never too early to start planning for the most glamorous night of the year! (Well, that’s what I tell myself as I wile away hours scouring magazines and blogs for glitzy party attire inspiration…)

As much as I crave color once the weather outside is frightful, there’s something about ringing in the New Year that screams in silver and gold! Perhaps it’s my desire to look like the ball in Time’s Square, or simply because December 31st is a time for shiny new beginnings. This year, I’m starting the new year off right with a timeless metallic dress to ring in the 2012 with a bang! My top contenders for this year’s festivities?

Glass of White Dress with the Opera Ring in Nude / Birthday Girl Dress with the Resting On Laurels Necklace / Champagne Toast Dress with Don’t Shed A Teardrop Earrings in Turquoise

Night at the Theater Dress with Ruby Rocks Earrings // Midnight Garden Party Dress with the String of Pearls Necklace // Star of the Silver Screen Dress with the Gift of Glitz Bow Studs

Whether or not I find that special someone to kiss me at midnight, I’ll know some things for certain – I’ll look like a million bucks and  be as bubbly as the champagne at the 12 o’clock toast!

Fall into our Perfect Fall Outfit Picks!

Fall is by far my favorite month to dress for. The temperatures dip and then unexpectedly rise – which means more layers are necessary, which means more clothes! And who can resist more clothes? Not this girl.

Keys to achieving the ideal outfit for this time of year? Layers, layers, layers! You never know (especially for us New England gals) what the day will bring. It could start out nice and sunny in the morning and lead to torrential downpours. Layers leave you prepared and cozy, so bundle up!

I’m loving all of our recent arrivals over at Lace Affair, and I combined some key pieces to create a perfect fall outfit. I’m a firm believer that as long as you stay in the same color palette, you can mix and match shades and prints to your hearts content. After all, as the fabulous Stacy London of What Not to Wear says, “it doesn’t have to match, it just has to go.”

Pink, red, orange, tan – they’re all warm colors, and they work together!

  1. Tie Me in Tassels Scarf in Pink, $18.99
  2. Sunset Sweetheart Dress, $39.99
  3. Wedding Bouquet Earrings, $11.99
  4. Naturally Nutty for Knit Sweater, $49.99
