Monday Muse: Lucy Laucht

We look for the same traits in our favorite blogs as in our favorite home décor: sleek, clean, and unique! Now, not every blog has those characteristics but we have been lucky enough to find a couple that do. One such blog is Lucy Laucht, today’s Monday Muse. Chronicling her New York life and fashion, Lucy’s blog is just as fun and creative as she is! We love the feeling of excitement when you get to her site, as you are in for a treat for all the senses! Let’s take a look, shall we?

Bangin’ Bangles…Even a simple jacket and jeans combo becomes high-fashion with the addition of several multicolored bangles, no doubt picked up during Lucy’s travels.

Makeup Madness…Lucy brings her personality into everything she does, even her makeup! Beauty essentials are kept in an old cigar box, while hot sauce makes its way into the picture!

Wanderlust…Lucy is a travelling guru, always taking her readers to beautiful lands with her impeccable images! Here is a gorgeous shot of Nicaragua in all its glory.

Gaga for Gingham…The combo of cashmere, gingham, and crystals might seem clashing to some, but Lucy manages to make the look totally chic and cool!

Striped & Sassy…We love this classic combo of stripes, a camel jacket, patterned pants, and a statement necklace. It is a bold and timeless ensemble, and Lucy pulls it off perfectly!

Wordless Wednesday: PINK!

Some movie lines really stick with you. “Here’s looking at you, kid” and “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn,” or our personal favorite: “On Wednesdays, we wear pink!” Mean Girls was so amazing when it first came out, because it showed the sometimes ridiculous things that girls do for popularity or to fit in. But it also left us with some great fashion lessons. Maybe pink isn’t mandatory one day a week, but a day celebrating the most feminine shade of all is something we can definitely get on board with! Here are some fucsia, rose, and bubblegum-colored things to make today great!

Sundays are for…Celeb Beauty Tips!

Sundays are our favorite here at Lace Affair, because you get to plan a whole new week of outfits, meals, and beauty ideas! So, this week, why not look to the stars? No, not your horoscope, although that’s fun too, but the celebrities who inspire us with their amazing style, perfect figures, and incredible skin. What are their secrets? Read on and find out…

We Want Moore

To get Julianne Moore’s perfect complexion, turn to nature. Julianne uses as many natural and eco-friendly products as she can, and she has the healthy look to prove it!

Carrie On

For the dancers out there, Carrie Ann Inaba is an idol! She recommends investing in Dr. Scholl’s insoles to avoid toe-pinching and the face-wrinkling it causes!

Baby, It’s Colbie Outside

We love the bohemian, tropical look that Colbie Caillat is always rocking and wanted to know her secret! It turns out that she relies on spray foundation for that just-airbrushed look!

Label-Worthy

We can’t think of a more fresh and natural-looking celeb than Selena Gomez. She never forgets how young she is, but she still uses her enviable bank account to invest in quality labels (think Chanel, YSL, & Guerlain) that last forever.

From LC to DIY

One of our favorite personable celebs is Lauren Conrad, who even has her own beauty blog! Her favorite DIY tip is to learn how to do your own nails…it is a talent that obviously comes in hand-y!

Wordless Wednesday: Snow White Movie Fashion

While previous years might have favored vampires or werewolves, we can undoubtedly declare 2012 the year of Snow White. There are not one, but two movies out this year representing the fair maiden and her Evil Stepmother, not to mention the amazing fairytale TV show Once Upon A Time on ABC. These, combined with the beloved original Disney-animated version, give us plenty of Snow to love this year. While the story is classic, a moral tale about good triumphing over evil and inner beauty rising above what is on the outside, there is much more to it than that. Namely, the fashion. With so much inspiration to choose from, here is our guide to recreating Snow White fashion, and perhaps even finding Prince Charming!

The Fairest of Them All

First let’s start off with the beauty. Snow White was known for her skin as white as snow, hair black as night, and lips like a red rose. You can easily recreate this look by balancing clean, neutral face makeup with simple red lips and dramatic eyes. Don’t forget to ask your mirror how you look.

Colorblock Like a Queen

Even before it was on-trend, Snow was rocking primary colors. Pair a midnight blue evening dress with red and yellow accessories and you are on your way to becoming Queen!

 Juicy & Delicious

What is the fun of looking the part without a celebratory feast? Invite over 7 of your shortest — I mean, dearest — friends, and feast on candy apples, trifle, and red velvet cupcakes. Just be careful not to invite any little old ladies…

Mirror, Mirror

Perhaps your fashion choices are a bit, ahem, darker. We won’t judge. To recreate this version of the Evil Queen’s wardrobe, load up on sequins, spikes, and metallic makeup. Bonus points for sharp nails and a wickedly-chic updo.

Someday You’re Prince Will Come

Perhaps the best day of all to act like a fairy princess would be your wedding day. Luckily, there are many elegant, flowered, and white as snow dresses to fulfill your wish before you ride out into the sunset towards your castle, or at least your honeymoon!

What is your favorite Snow White look?
