Movie Inspiration: Tree of Life

With the Academy Awards coming up in about a week, everyone is really focused on movies right now. One of the best films of the year, a movie that did not get recognized enough (opinion!), is The Tree of Life. Set in the 1950′s, it tells the story of a young suburban family, their inner demons, and, oh, so much more. It is so hard to categorize the movie in words, because it is really unlike anything else. One thing we can talk about, however, are the clothes. The mother, although melancholy and quiet, is always impeccably dressed in 1950′s house dresses. The father, on the other hand, is aggressive in his Sunday best, played marvelously by Brad Pitt. While the movie is indescribably beautiful, you can easily re-create it with your wardrobe!
